Trauma - Informed

Trauma can arise from various experiences, including early life events, attachment wounds, emotionally painful relationships, abuse, grief and loss, PTSD, motor vehicle accidents (MVA), and other overwhelming situations. Such trauma can significantly affect individuals on emotional, physical, and relational levels, often leading to symptoms like anxiety, hypervigilance, emotional overwhelm, sleep disturbances, intrusive memories, avoidance, irritability, and challenges in relationships or daily functioning.

In the realm of psychology in Edmonton, the goal of therapy is to establish a secure and supportive environment where clients can gain insights into their experiences, develop coping strategies, process challenging emotions, and pursue healing at a pace that feels manageable and respectful. Evidence-based methods such as trauma-informed care, PE, EFIT, CBT, ACT, and attachment-based strategies may be tailored to meet each client's unique needs during their therapy in Edmonton.
